Material is a Resource that is used to create new Objects or Abstracts. Its spending is reminiscent of Currency, only it is an abstract, and often requires more material types to be used together to create a new abstract, such as creating potions from herbs for instance.

Materials can always be collected from the game world by an avatar. It always exist as an abstract in the user interface and can always be sold for currency. Materials always have multiple positive spending options with a constant consequence. Materials never produce virtual resources.
